Origami's World

Well, I've loved world maps since I have memory, I don't know exactly but, it has any special to me that makes me feel happy. In fact, I was needed to do something with feeling and Origami.

Made with 3 different modules, almost 4000 pieces, the most difficult part was to assemble each one with hard precession. One and half year plaining and 6 months folding the same thing. But the finish work is so cool.

Shogi

Is the most popular family's chess game native to Japan. Derived from the game Chaturanga played in India, the same game wich occidental chees was born.

There are several theories about when Shogi spread to Japan. I agree with the theory wich Shogi was brought to Japan after the start of the Heian period, it is because when I play a Shogi game, my feeling is that I'm an emperor who gives orders to my soilders.

Shogi is played with 20 pieces for each one, in a 9x9 board. It has similar rules like all chess family, but Shogi is special in many things. Each piece has a particularly movement that I compare with the Samurai atacks and diferents classes.

Shogi's pieces are writed in Japanese Kanji, and regularly made of wood, but in this case, there are paper pieces in artisan art of Origami made by hands, following the tradition with the five corners in each piece, wich unlike the opponent's pieces, because all of them have the same color (I used an own paper compose of coffe wich makes the light brown color, and I put a coin into each one to make weight). The tip show the direction way beetwen pieces of each players.

Cherokee Eagle

Native American People attach a special significance to the eagle. They are highly revered and considered sacred within the American Indian traditions, culture, and religion.

Native Americans agree that the creator made all birds, and that he made the eagle the leader and king of the sky.

The wings of an eagle represent the balance, between the male and female, each one dependent upon the strengths and abilities of the other.

They represent honesty, truth, majesty, strength, courage, wisdom, power and freedom. As they roam the sky, they are believed to have a special connection to God.
This shape was made especially for my aunt Tere, who likes the Eagle, reason to make it into a necklace. Actually this shape is in Valencia Spain, were my aunt lives.

Snowflake-Box

Snowflakes and Origami have similar ways. Snowflakes are particles in the snow's universe, and the snowflake form, never repeats itself two or more times, making a big universe of infinite forms, created in different temperatures. Just like in Origami there are different shapes made by different artists.

This is a special snowflake. Snowflakes always have 6 sides, like an hexagon, however this snowflake has 8 sides. It's easy to explain: it tell us how the unreal may be possible, and that we can to think beyond that thought.

Representing a Snowflake-Box helps to, explain how the knowledge is saved into a box. That is our mind is a snowfkake of infinite wisdom like the infinite snowflakes form. But it is an empty not a fully box, that we are going to fill, learn and enjoy through life. Because you are a Snowflake-Box, no one is like you. So live life and be happy.

Welsh Dragon

It starts in Dinas Emrys in Northern of Wales in the United Kingdom around the Age of Iron. Vortigern tried to build a castle there, but every night walls fell-down by unseen and mystic forces. Vortigern the King asked for a boy to sacrifice, finding a special boy ( later named Merlin), with his death to solve the problem. The intelligent boy told the King about the White Dragon, which it demolished the castle.
Then Vortigern freed the dragons into a hill, they fought each other; Finally the Red Dragon defeats the White Dragon.
Nowadays this place is known as Wales. The Red Dragon or "Y Ddraig Goch" in the Welsh Language is a strong symbol.

This European Dragon represents, intelligence, power and mostly the freedom that everybody wants to gachieve.

Canadian Maple Leaf

The Canadian Maple Leaf shows a beautiful multi-color change. The green color represents youth nature and prosperity; the red color energy and strength; the yellow color wisdom and deep knowledge; the brown color freedom and the beginning of a new generation.

The Maple Leaf is an important national symbol of Canada. This shape has represented Canada many times. Nowadays is still a strong symbol to represent the homeland, the Flag, coins, teams, and the same country is a Mapleland to admire the nature, given by our beautiful and fantastic world.

It is ironic to think that we fold a paper made by trees to make leaf trees. It is the greatest part of Origami, because you can to represent anything you want. In this case something natural and commoun that everybody likes.

And Remember: Nature is a beauty show, caring for it forever and, everybody can enjoy it!!!
